WWE SmackDown, also known as Friday Night SmackDown or simply SmackDown, is an American professional wrestling television show produced by WWE that currently airs live every Friday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. Fox Deportes simultaneously broadcasts the show with comments in Spanish. The show features characters from the SmackDown brand, whom WWE employees are assigned to work and perform. The show is currently considered one of two flagship shows, along with Monday Night Raw.

Slap! it debuted in the United States on UPN on April 29, 1999 and previously aired on Thursday nights. The show would move to Friday nights on September 9, 2005 and, following the merger of UPN and WB, it would begin airing on The CW in September 2006. The show would later move to MyNetworkTV in October 2008 . On October 1, 2010, SmackDown moved to the Syfy cable network, and would eventually return to Thursday, January 15, 2015. The show later moved. to his brother USA Network on January 7, 2016, and later that year, beginning on July 19, 2016, SmackDown began broadcasting live on Tuesday nights. The move from SmackDown to FOX on October 4, 2019 marked the return of the show to Friday nights and over-the-air television (as well as the second time SmackDown has been broadcast on a FOX-owned network).

SmackDown has been broadcast from 163 venues, 148 cities and towns, seven countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Iraq in 2003 and 2004 for Tribute to the Troops, Japan in 2005, Italy in 2007 and Mexico in 2011. Before changing In their current live format, the recorded episodes were released a few hours earlier in Ireland and the United Kingdom and a day earlier in Australia, Canada, Singapore and the Philippines than in the United States, due to time differences. For international broadcast listings, see below. The show celebrated its 15th anniversary on October 10, 2014, and its 1,000th episode on October 16, 2018.

WWE Network ceased operations in the United States as of April 4, 2021, with all content in the process of being moved to Peacock TV, which currently has select episodes of SmackDown from October 4, 2019 onwards. Recent episodes are still available for on-demand viewing 30 days after the original air date.
